Poet Edward Maunick, Grand Prix'de l’Académie Francaise, 2003, the editor of the collection, united a few people in whom he found an affinity with Senghor’s poetry. My contribution is reflection by and on his work from outside of Africa, i.e., from my German-French-American perspective.
